Dermal fillers treatment in Brighton & Hove
At Brighton & Hove Cosmetic Clinic, we are highly trained in dermal fillers application.
Keeping your skin young
Young skin is constantly moisturised from within by hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar. It absorbs moisture and keeps your skin well hydrated for a youthful look. The leading dermal fillers used by most UK practitioners nowadays are hyaluronic acid based products. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of our own skin which can be synthesised. Dermal fillers can be used to shape as well as plump out the deep lines on the face.
Facial Lines and Volume
As we age, the hyaluronic acid we once produced starts to diminish. Our skin becomes dry, fine lines start to appear on the face. Some lines become wrinkles due to outside factors like sun exposure, diet and years of facial muscle movement. Facial volume also decreases and fat loss can create sagging pulling the features downwards with the lower part of the face forming jowls.
Lips
The loss of hyaluronic acid leads to the appearance of wrinkles and the loss of fullness to our lips. As our lips become thinner, they lose volume and lack definition. We can develop vertical, or “marionette”, lines around the mouth, which can form at the corners going down to the chin or we can even develop a droop to the corners of the mouth, giving your lips a sad appearance.
Neckline and Decolletage
The face, neck, decolletage and hands are the most susceptible to sun damage. Over the years, skin may dry out due to sun damage and loss of hyaluronic acid, depleting it of moisture and elasticity at your neckline and décolletage.
Wrinkles and fine lines commonly appear along, frown lines (Glabellar Lines), smiles lines (Crow’s Feet), laughter lines (Nasolabial Folds), Lip Lines (smoker line) and around corner of the mouth (Marionette lines).

Dermal Filler Side Effects
Treatment with dermal fillers and the levels of pain experienced will depend on the area being injected, the product being used (some contain a local anaesthetic) and any topical numbing creams which are used during the procedure. The treatment should be relatively painless or mildly uncomfortable with the nose and lip areas being the most sensitive.
Common side effects from dermal filler treatments include bruising, swelling, redness, tenderness and slight bleeding at the injection sites, which will disappear either almost immediately or over a 24 – 48 hour period. Lumpiness can occur but disappears after a few days of massaging.
